A full run of illuminated marquee letters, A through H, standing on the workshop floor

A through H, lit and standing on the floor before packing. Every letter is photographed before it leaves the building.

Illuminated letters and numbers with replaceable bulbs. Metal face and back panel, warm-white or RGB LED bulbs, configurable 110V or 220V input, built for repeated rental use and shipped with spares.

Lighting Replaceable LED bulbs (warm white standard, RGB optional)
Body Metal face and back panel, powder-coated
Power Plug-in; voltage and plug matched to destination
Use Indoor and outdoor in dry weather; the standard build is not rain-proof

Construction

Each letter is a fabricated box: a punched metal face carrying the lamp sockets, a metal back panel, so a failed bulb is pulled and replaced from the face without dismantling the letter.

  • Metal face — punched for the lamp sockets at even spacing, with reinforced edges.
  • Lamp sockets — spaced across the punched face for an even point-light pattern.
  • Bulbs — LED as standard for lower heat and lower maintenance than incandescent.
  • Back panel and mounting — metal back panel with hanging points; a freestanding stand is available as an option.

Inside the build

A letter frame before the face panel is fitted, showing the welded internal braces
The frame, before the face goes on. Braces are welded into the profile — not folded and left open.
Bulbs seated in sockets on the punched metal face, with the internal brace visible
Sockets set into the punched face. The brace behind them is what stops the panel drumming.
Inside a letter showing socket wiring along the frame
Wiring runs inside the box, clear of the back panel, so nothing chafes when the letter is moved.

Ask any supplier for these three shots before you order. If they cannot send them, you have your answer.

Built to hold its shape: double-line welding

The face edge of every letter is welded on both lines. That doubled edge is what keeps the profile rigid — a stroke will not flex when the letter is lifted, stacked or leant against a wall, and it stays straight after a season of being loaded in and out of a van.

A single, unwelded fold has nothing pinning the profile. Under repeated handling the stroke gradually bows, and you only notice it when the letter is switched off and you sight along its edge.

Close-up of the double-line welded edge on a marquee letter
  • Double-line welded edge — rigid face, straight strokes, no drift over years of hire.
  • Checked at forming — each letter is measured against the artwork, not just the first one off the line.
  • Photographs honestly — a straight stroke reads as a straight stroke on camera, which is where your customers judge it.

Ask for a close-up of the edge on any letter before you order. It is the fastest way to tell one supplier from another.

Sizes and geometry

Bulb diameter, centre spacing, stroke width and body depth are planned together. Narrow strokes and tight counters may need a smaller bulb or revised spacing — we will flag this at artwork review rather than at production.

  • Minimum stroke — must accommodate the bulb and socket body with edge clearance.
  • Counters and corners — sharp turns and small openings may carry fewer bulbs.
  • Large sets — long words and multi-letter names may ship in sections with alignment marks.

Lighting and electrical

  • Replaceable LED bulbs; warm white is standard for the classic marquee look.
  • RGB and colour options available; remote control and dimming available on request.
  • Each letter is individually wired and switched, so one unit can be isolated without killing the set.
  • Power supplies and plugs are matched to the destination market at order confirmation.

Materials and finishes

  • Metal face and back panel — fabricated and powder-coated; gauge and finish confirmed at quotation.
  • Colour matching — RAL or Pantone references accepted.
  • Finish options — gloss, matte, metallic and aged/vintage effects.
